Welcome and thank you for visiting the Christopher P. D'Amico Memorial Journalism Scholarship Fund page.


Chris D'Amico was a nationally recognized journalist and editor who always had an eye towards moving his field forward. He built his career around NFL coverage, where he accomplished a goal many of us strive for: translating his lifelong love for sports (and the Philadelphia Eagles) into passionate reporting on sporting teams across the US. As Managing Editor at the Stat Ledger, he also forayed into political coverage, where he led the team to winning the ultimate achievement in journalism, a Pulitzer Prize.


During this long career, Chris's second passion was always mentoring up-and-coming journalists. He loved helping others channel their energy and enthusiasm into meaningful, creative work. Based on this, his family has decided to start the Christopher P. D'Amico Memorial Journalism Scholarship, which will assist students who are pursuing a career in sports journalism. It is our hope that this will allow his name to live on while continuing his mission of empowering the future leaders in the world of sports coverage.


Setting up this fund will be a process, so this site will be used to keep everyone interested up to date on its progress and eventual beneficiaries.
